Progress Pictures

Well, it is about time that I post some before and during pictures so there is an easy place to make the comparison.

These were some photos taken about 18 months prior to changing my lifestyle (look how sweaty I am in the second pic.  That was normal then, thankfully it is not so bad now.

These photos were taken almost a year to the day of starting the lifestyle change:

This picture was taken the Christmas prior to starting the lifelong weight-loss/fitness journey:

Now I’ll get to some pics since the journey has started.

Week Fifty-Six, which is the final weigh-in of year one.  Yeah, I know the week doesn’t add up right, but it was due to a change in weigh-in days along the way.

I’ve always thought my legs looked muscular, but I really like how the muscle tone is developing in them now.

The following pictures were taken at 190 pounds on October 11, 2009, just two pounds from my all-time adult low weight.

  1. Dude that is some significant looking progress. I can’t wait till I have enough photos to do something like this. Besides the obvious weight loss, your posture has gotten much better. That helps EVERYTHING, especially weight training. Great improvements!

  6. Hey Steve~

This is great! It’s pretty brave to post the pictures of your weight-loss. But what better way to see your progress and be held accountable to your goals.

That’s something that I’ll have to start doing. You sure are an inspiration! Good luck with you’re plans.

Beej, it was not easy to put up the topless photos. I really, really struggled with that, but now I am glad I did. Nevertheless, I don’t think I would have done topless photos at the beginning of the weight loss/fitness journey.

  8. Steve,

You are doing amazing. SO inspiring! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for leaving such encouraging comments…you are awesome!

I am doing better, I am struggling with what and how much to share on my blog and exactly how to say/describe what this week has been for me, as it is NOT jsut about weightloss but it directly relates to it. Hopefully soon I will be able to get it together.

Thank you Kim. I appreciate your comments.

It is hard to find that sweet spot on the blog, isn’t it? I have gotten to the point that if it affects my weight loss, I will generally post it on here. Of course, there are always exceptions. I hope your week gets better.

Thank you Joania. This brought a big smile to my face. I need to look at these pics more often. It helps me keep in mind where I have been and where I am going.

Now if the rest of my body was as muscular as the calves.

Great job, Steve! It’s good to get motivation from people like that really do know where we are coming from in our battle with being overweight.

Leah, this is one of the best compliments I have gotten. I make myself go and look at the pictures periodically to remind me where I came from. I have to remember that.

  26. Hey Steve,

it’s always a pleasure seeing people succeed, nice results you show there. Myself I’ve lost 18 kg in about 2 years, with reducing carbs and doing a lot of sports (2-3x a week, fitness and Muay Thai) I have reached a plateau now I cannot break through, or at least it’s very difficult, have started soft intermittent fasting 3 weeks ago, 16/8 and sometimes 24/0 or 20/4, in this range of hours. I hope I will break through that resistance soon. My goal at 176cm, 39 years old, 78 kg is 72 kg in the long run, maybe 70 if it’s possible and if I don’t look too much like a zombie skeleton… ;-) Do you have some advice ?

Best regards, keep up the great work and motivation, NEVER GIVE UP, EVER ! Whatever they say.
