Bonding

Thanks for all the well-wishes regarding my foot.  There is something obviously wrong.  While it doesn’t hurt to walk on it, it is quite swollen.   I am going to try and stay off of it as much as possible tomorrow.

My son and I had a great trip back from St. Louis tonight.  It is amazing how good the father/son time is together during these long drives.

I didn’t exercise today – yet.  I am going to do some push ups on my way to bed though.  Eating has been so-so, which is entirely unacceptable.

  1. I love long car trips! Glad you got some quality time with your son, and you know, one day when he looks back on his youth, these times will probably stand out in his memories.

Hope you can get to see a doctor on Monday for that foot.

  5. I missed yesterday’s post so I will go back to see what is going on with your ankle. I remember seeing it maybe wasn’t gout but didn’t get further. Speaking of your son, I swear this boy could be yours–he sounds just like you and is a great speaker to boot! http://www.christianchronicle.org/blog/2011/01/video-9-year-old-recaps-what-hes-learned-reading-the-bible/

  6. Glad you had the father/son thing! So many kids don’t want to do that .. or parents!

  7. How’s it going Steve, we traded some e-mails around the beginning of the year on meal suggestions and that type of thing. I wanted to drop a quick line and let you know that I have had great success along with my wife in the first month of our journey “on the beach”. So far I am down from 308 on January 1st to 283 as of this morning. My goal was for 100 pounds and at best 120 pounds lost this year. At this pace I could be at my goal by the end of the summer. I know that things will begin slowing down and that rapid weight loss happens at the beginning, but it feels great having lost 25 pounds. Seeing your pictures truly were my inspiration. Thanks for making this site. I’ll check in soon and let you know how things are progressing.

Kelley – great hearing from you! This is awesome to hear that you and your wife are having such success to far! Anytime you can lose 25 pounds in a month, it is worth it!
