This Could Get Interesting. . .
I decided that since today was a travel day, it was a good day for a fast. I had nothing other than a cup of black coffee and water from the time I woke up until this evening, when I broke the fast with a great ribeye and salad.
I planned on not doing any exercise today, but I had neglected to think of all the walking I would be doing. I didn’t measure it, but the time I walked indicates I put in a couple of miles.
I did make it to Washington DC. I am not sure this is good. The airport is now closed tomorrow, but my flight home isn’t until Thursday. The other guy I was meeting up here did not make it – they cancelled his flight as he was boarding. So it is just me representing the company, which might be a good opportunity for me. We’ll see. The snow has started again, and they are calling for up to 14 more inches. I really, really hope I get home by Friday. I have plans this weekend I don’t want to miss.
I want to thank you all for the comments on Motivation for Monday and the testimonials I have received so far. I greatly appreciate it.
WebMD recently had an interesting take on eating and exercise, reporting that what you eat after exercise matters. The referenced study suggests that low carbohydrate meals after a workout increase insulin sensitivity, and thus the bodies effectiveness at using the sugar in the bloodstream for fuel.

Thank you for that article. I am always looking for solid tips about what to eat and when. I hope you get home on time for your plans!

Me too Kimberley. Right now it is not looking good, but tomorrow may tell a more hopeful tale.

That webmd article is interesting. I normally have just protein and two eggs after my runs which goes against conventional wisdom that you should eat carbs. Hopefully that is a good thing!

I didn’t quite make it on C-SPAN.
The regulators I was dealing with avoid the TV. It did go very well though. I’ll tell a little more in tonight’s post.
