Pleased as Punch
I can’t tell you how pleased I am to report that I have eaten weight-loss portions for every meal today. That makes two days in a row. I know how small that seems to some of you, but it has been a while since I have done this. To be honest, I have been 100% in maintenance-mode for some time now, and I have come to realize that I am never going to lose these last ten or so pounds if I don’t buckle down. I think this is the hardest place to be. I am happy to be where I am, but I am not satisfied. Nevertheless, if I never lost another pound, I would be okay. I am a healthy weight now, BUT I am not quite where I want to be yet.
Exercise today was simply the full joint-flexibility routine, which is the easy day. I am kind of dreading tomorrow. My chest is sore today from all the push ups yesterday. I also feel it in my shoulders, but not the same pain I have been having. It is a good pain if that makes any sense. Yet, I know this pain is going to make tomorrow hard.
A lot of you are using Wii Fit as part of your total health program. Apparently it works. See for yourself.
If you have ever questioned whether some people have a mental disorder when it comes to weight, this article should settle it.

Yay Steve! I know how exciting it can be to achieve your meal goals for the day and then the next day too! Great job.
I know what you mean about the good pain and the bad pain. Sore muscles feel different than damaged tendons etc. You just know the difference.
Enjoy your workout tomorrow!

Wow, Steve! Your motivation on the weight-loss eating. I need to make that change, too…
Oh, yeah, that crazy lady…how proud I am that she’s from the town right next to mine. Ugh. How sad!

Beej, you are doing so good, I don’t see how you could improve much.
How sad is right.

One day at a time. That’s the way to do it!

Congrats on controlling your portion size! I know two days of healthy meals can be seriously tough but a great start! Funny- I have been really happy with my portions the last two days as well! I love how your stomach adjusts to it- I feel like I can stop just at “full” instead of going way past it or not enough.

Thank bhealthier! It seems so small, but it is a great start.

Combining more maintanence from time to time might not be a bad idea. Once you reach goal, you’ll have some practice in eating well, but not over eating!

This is a great point Rachel, and one I have deliberately worked toward. I just don’t want too much maintenance yet.

Good for you, Steve! The sweetest meal is the taste of success!

Congratulations Steve! I have had two weight loss portion days too. I just recently realized that my food intake has been more maintenance than weight loss. I am thrilled to be maintaining the weight that I have lost, but am not at the place yet where I want to or should stop losing. So I am going to really work on raising my awareness on my portions and get myself back into weight loss mode. Here’s to a good month ahead!

Kat, this is my feelings exactly. Let’s both rock February!

It’s surprising how triumphant something like that can make you feel! And although you’ve not been eating too much, it’s easy to slip back into old habits. Well done for that!

The workout today will diminish the muscular discomfort you’re experiencing from Monday’s workout Steve. In fact, it will likely totally alleviate it.
Glad to see you feeling on top of it all!

Wendy, I suspected you might have some advice, and you are right. I feel the muscle soreness again this morning after the workout, but I like it if that makes sense.

Good for you! I am going to check out the Wii fit – hear great things about it from lots of gals on my dieting forum. Maybe a fitting birthday present for me from my teens – a video game for mom!

It’s not for me, not right now, but it looks like it is a great tool for some.

Yahoo Steve! Keep it up! As for the pain, I do understand what you are saying. It may just be from the workout & then it should go away in a couple days.. so keep a watch or should I say feel on it!
I am going to read that article stuff after some sleep!

I can tell it is not the bad pain right now. It is just my muscles getting used to the upped intensity.

A lot of people are really getting some good use out of it. It is nice to see something like that be more than a game system.

Congrats on the weight loss portions! You will kick those final 10 pounds to the curb.
The Seattle Weekly story is just terrible. Poor kid
