Friday Night Blog Spotlight
Tonight’s blog spotlight is a newcomer to logmyloss, Jody over at Truth2BeingFit.com. This is a great weekend for you to stop by and check Jody’s blog out, because it won’t be long until Jody – Fit at Almost 52 will be Jody – Fit at 52. Yep, this Sunday Jody turns 52. I’ll venture to say you haven’t seen many 52 year-olds in the shape that Jody is in though. Let me tell you what, this gal has got it going on. As soon as you are done reading this, you need to head on over and check Jody’s blog out, just be sure to leave her a comment and let her know South Beach Steve sent you.
A lot of you have been asking about my wife’s grandmother lately. I want to first of all say how awed I am at the concern I have seen. I sincerely appreciate this, and I truly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have been going on. It seems they have finally figured out what was going on. It seems that every time she drank something, it was going into her lungs, thus perpetuating the pnemonia. Now that they have figured that out, they are getting her liquids in a little different fashion, which teaching her to drink differently, which will prevent this from continuing. This has been especially tough on my wife, as she has had a cold just like me, so she hasn’t been able to go see her grandmother for a week or so. It does her good to hear she is getting better though.
Speaking of having a cold, I am still not totally over mine, and I don’t think I will be tomorrow either. I am considerably better though. I think I will be totally over this Sunday. That being said, I chose not to workout again today. Tomorrow I may go ahead and walk, but if I do it will be at a slower pace.
Eating has been fair today, although I wouldn’t call it weight loss portions. I am going to try to make tomorrow a great day for dieting though. I am hoping for an outstanding Sunday.

good news on your granny-in -law, pneumonia is rough – I remember when my mother had it, I was so scared for her. I’ll put her in my prayers again tonight
as for your health, hang in there – this will pass soon- there is a benefit to going into maintainence mode when you’re sick, this way your body can focus on healing – so good move on your part

Thanks Kashi. She is getting better, but still not well yet.
It is soon going to pass for me. I am feeling better again today, I just don’t want to push it yet.

I love Jody’s site – it’s pretty new to me and she just seems like a total bundle of energy.
Glad you are feeling better, and I have to say that I am glad you are taking time off from exercise to get better. You don’t want that type of thing lingering on because you don’t give yourself a chance to fully recover.

Agreed Lori.
I was going to work out all the way through this little cold I have, but I am glad I changed my mind.

Wow, Jody is an inspiration! I can only hope to look that good when I hit my 30′s, let alone my 50′s!!
I hope your wife’s grandmother recovers quickly, I knew a man who had the same problem but your granny in law sounds like she has a fighting chance and I wish you and her all the best

I agree Louisa. I wish I had the muscle tone Jody has.
Honestly, we were pretty concerned whether she would pull through or not. It seems as if she does have a fighting chance now, but it has been a long road.

Joania, Jody has really got it figured out.
Thanks for the good wishes for my wife’s grandma. She is pulling through.
I was hoping to work through the cold, but I knew I was playing with fire. I am probably not going to walk today either, which I am greatly displeased with, but I just don’t think it is worth the cost.

Steve, thank you so much for the call out! So sweet! Made my bday to come tomorrow!
So glad you & GIL are better!!!! It is so scary when a loved one gets ill & especially pneumonia since that leads to not great things. Thank goodness they figured it out!
You, your wife& GIL, keep getting better! We are all holding “get well” thoughts for you!
Hope you feel good enough to walk tomorrow! I will be doing my Sunday jog even though it is my bday so will be thinking of you.
Thx again!

Jody, the timing for this would have been hard to beat. Perhaps if I did a Saturday Blog Spotlight instead.
I appreciate the get well thoughts. We are both better, but not totally out of the woods yet.

Diane, you are a real role model too. That isn’t meant to take anything away from Jody, just a compliment to you.

three things i love when i have a cold, hot steam to breath, fresh lime juice to drink, and a dose of apple cider vinegar to drink and run it through the nasal cavities. (cut with water of course) it melts mucus and congestion like a hot knife through butter. glad everyone is doing better

Rachel, that sounds pretty convincing. I hope I am over this now, but if not, this sounds like things to try.

Good luck on attaining your outstanding Sunday! I could use one, too, and I will keep your good example in mind.
Glad the doctors figured out at least part of the problem with your wife’s grandmother. I hope she sees a good upswing in her health as a result.
