Day 364 – Beginning to Wonder

I am beginning to wonder what is going on.  While I was feeling better this morning, I haven’t felt the best most of the rest of the day.  In fact, I am dreading my flight tomorrow if I am feeling like this.  After discussing it with my wife, I am beginning to wonder if perhaps one of my medicines I am taking has become too much for me.  My doctor reduced my blood pressure medicine by half a month or so ago, but my blood pressure is still running low (107/65 average).  I am sure my other medicines may be having the same effect.  If I am not better tomorrow I plan on calling my doctor and getting her opinion on this.

I had planned on a really inspirational post tonight, but to tell you the truth, I don’t have a lot of inspiration in me right now.  I do have a great post in store for tomorrow and another good one in mind for Tuesday, so be sure and check back then.

Eating today has been pretty good.  I thought I would reward myself with a bowl of Grape Nuts mixed with flax seed and blueberries for breakfast.  This was tasty, but it didn’t hold me over well at all.  Lunch was a small BLT Salad with Bacon Ranch Dressing.  Supper was an apple with natural peanut butter.

I didn’t exercise today.  Tomorrow I will at least get a walk in at the airport, but I am not suspecting I will get any other exercise in.  Tuesday I am planning on getting back in the swing of things.

I truly thank you all for the well wishes.  I hate to feel like I am complaining every post.  I am not at all intending it to be taken that way; however, this is where I discuss my health and well-being, so it kind of goes with the territory.

Make it a great day!

  3. that blood pressure can be a day ruiner if its out of whack. yep call the doctor. seems you may not be on bp meds very much longer.

no worries about the sunshine having a few clouds, thats just the markings of honest blog. if a blogger goes weeks and weeks with nothing but upbeat cheer, then they are probably hopelessly bottoming out on a coffee abuse cycle and needing an intervention (see my blog for example, lol)

Rachel, I agree. I think it is about time to cut the BP meds totally out; however, I will consult with my doctor first.

  4. Just a thought here… but have you looked into the possibility of “overtraining”? I actually dealt with this problem back in May, made me feel similar to the symptoms you are describing… found this link that gave some good info:

Not saying you *shouldn’t* consult a physician, because I did when I dealt with these similar symptoms… just a thought.

Nino, thanks for the link. I am heading there after I get done replying to posts. This may be part or all of it.

  5. You may be on the right track here, so it’s probably best to have it checked out… Over-medicating can be even more dangerous that taking no medication at all.

Hanlie, there is no doubt that I need to have this evaluated. I was hoping to wait until my yearly physical, but it may not be able to wait that long.

Kat, I do need to get the meds checked out. I did not call the doc today — see today’s post for more.

  7. Your meds may well be a little strong for you at this point. Do you get orthostatic hypotension (feel dizzy when you squat or get up suddenly?) I second the idea of checking in with the dr.

Larkspur, I do occasionally get that feeling. In fact, that is why my doctor originally cut my BP meds in half. Fortunately for me, I am still at about the same BP as before the cut. I am pretty sure it is a good time to try life without the BP, but I want to consult with the doc first.

  8. PS Are you eating enough, dearie?

    South Beach Steve Reply:

Larkspur, I don’t really track my calories, so I don’t know if I am undereating or not. I don’t feel hungry most of the time, so I wouldn’t think I was eating too little, but maybe I need to track this and find out.

  9. are you feeling any better?

I, too, wondered if you are undereating or undereating in the carb arena?

Off to look and see if you have it all recorded somewhere here—youre so organized Im sure you do :)

Mizfit, I am feeling better. There are several things this could have been. I am slowly working back into my normal routine to see if the bad feelings come back. Food is one area I am paying special attention to.
