Yesterday and part of Monday my wife was suffering from a sinus headache. Well, let me rephrase that. According to the Endocrinologist it is an irregular migraine (which means they don’t know what it is), and there is nothing wrong with her sinus cavities. You couldn’t tell that from her headaches that she occasionally gets. Anyhow, I might have discovered a cure for this. Yesterday I was grinding up my favorite seasoning, smoked cayenne powder, and she walked in the house in the midst of it. You have to understand that I can take quite a bit of pepper before it causes a problem, but my wife is not quite that way. I didn’t realize it had permeated the air as much as it had. As soon as she walked in the door, she immediately ran back out sneezing and coughing. While the next several minutes were not pleasant, her headache cleared up and she tells me she feels good today. Now, let’s see if I can convince her to breathe in pepper fumes the next time she has an “irregular migraine”.
It seems like every time I take a week off with the intention of simply enjoying a little R&R, I end up busier than normal. It is all good though. In spite of the pepper incident, yesterday was a spectacular day, and today has been good as well. We only have one Thanksgiving celebration this year, which is probably good for my eating this week, which hasn’t been the best so far. On the bright side, I am getting in the exercise this week. Oh how things seem to have changed.
For all my stateside friends, I hope you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving Day tomorrow with your family and friends. For all my other friends all across the world, there is nothing that prevents you from being thankful tomorrow along with us. Make it a great day everyone!
