I finally started back exercising today. While my foot is still hurting, it is hardly noticeable now, so I took a slow 2.1 mile stroll. However, that was not it. I followed that by working in my wife’s grandmother’s garden. I turned my GPS on while working in the garden and found that I walked 1.49 miles. That totally surprised me, although it shouldn’t have. She really has three huge gardens. We ended up with quite a load of vegetables out of this trip. A lot of peppers, some tomatoes, a lot of okra, and some cucumbers. The only bad thing about this is trying to get it preserved before it ruins. Anyhow, that makes a total of 3.59 miles today, which was more than I expected. I don’t think I will walk tomorrow, with the intent of being back on track Monday.
Eating was also good today. Breakfast was two eggs mixed with two roasted peppers, two small turkey sausages, and an apple with three tablespoons of Super Pecan Butter. Lunch was a large all veggie salad plus Bacon Ranch Dressing. Supper was another large all veggie salad plus Bacon Ranch Dressing and a pork steak. I also had a few handfuls of almonds during the day and a couple of pieces of dark cayenne chocolate with natural peanut butter. There is no doubt I overdid it on the nuts today. I ended the day with a sf popsicle.
One area I need to do better with is measuring my food so I know how much I am eating. This will be easier if I win the scale biz319 is giving away on Biggest Diabetic Loser. Be sure and head over to her blog, leave a comment, and maybe one of us will win the book and the scale.
As I close tonight, I want to ask all of of you to do something for me. A fellow blogger, Jen at Prior Fat Girl, has just been hit head on with one of the toughest battles life can throw at her – she lost her mother suddenly because of an accident. Prior to today I have not been to Jen’s site, but that did not stop me from leaving a comment there today. She needs as much support as she can get right now. So if you have not already left her a comment encouraging her, now is the time to do it.
