Wednesday’s Word of the Day – Change

Believe it or not, this is a new WWotD video!  Don’t expect a typical SBS video though, this one is different.  More subdued, more introspective, more erratic than normal, yet the message is important.

Day 235 –

Today has been a much better day for me.  While the food choices have not been perfect (when are they anymore), I have eaten much less.  The good news is I am heading home tomorrow and life will be getting closer to normal.  My family and I have an extremely full weekend of yard cleanup and garden preparation.  I suspect we could work all weekend on the yard and not be anywhere close to done.  Lots of limb hauling and brush burning ahead of us.  I am going to focus on clearing the area for my garden, get it prepared, and then get the rest of the yard done.  I doubt I will get a walk in all weekend, but I assure you there will be no lack of exercise.

Just in case you are thinking about using Mediacom as you cable/Internet/phone provider — don’t!  I am sure they do fine for a lot of people, but they are losing customers left and right in my area.  My wife called me today and let me know that the cable TV is out again.  I am so happy we have switched our Internet at home to DSL.  In just a few weeks we will have our new Direct TV also.  I have never had a business entity that I have been so happy to quit doing business with.

My South Beach Diet food journal for the day is as follows:

  • Breakfast – One cup of Uncle Sam cereal with a cup of skim milk and one small turkey sausage.
  • Mid-morning Snack – One apple and 12 almonds.
  • Lunch – A BBQ sampler platter.  This was one rib, a slice of beef brisket, and a sausage.  This came with slaw, cornbread, pinto beans, and potato salad.  I swapped the potato salad out for another slaw, gave the cornbread away, and ate away at the rest.  It was good, there is no doubt about it.
  • Mid-afternoon Snack – One apple and 12 almonds.
  • Supper – A Ribeye and two servings of steamed vegetables.  I also had a salad with Ranch Dressing.

My flight leaves at 7:30 in the morning.  It is incredibly windy tonight, so I hope that doesn’t mean delays.  I don’t have a lot of flexibility in my schedule tomorrow.  Only a 48 minute layover in Houston.  With any luck I will be home on time.
