Wednesday’s Word of the Day – Change

Believe it or not, this is a new WWotD video!  Don’t expect a typical SBS video though, this one is different.  More subdued, more introspective, more erratic than normal, yet the message is important.

Day One Hundred and Eighteen

I had such high hopes for this weekend and it doesn’t seem like I am getting anything I planned on doing done.  I feel like I have just been spinning my wheels.  Of course, that doesn’t help my diet either.  I tend to eat more when I feel like I am not getting anything done, so I have been nick-nacking all day long.  I don’t have high hopes for my weigh-in tomorrow and will be happy if I just stay even from last week.

There is a challenge I am thinking of joining on South Beach Friends Forum.  It might be what I need to get back in the swing of exercising.  I will make up my mind for sure on this tomorrow.  Unfortunately, this forum is down now and I can’t re-read this post.  Grrr!  That is so frustrating.  The forum seems to be back up now, but is running very slow.

Even though I grazed on food most of the day, I didn’t do too bad on the diet.  My biggest lapse was eating a couple of pieces of regular bacon.  I have to admit, it was fatty pieces too.  This will sound gross to some of you, but I really love crispy bacon fat.  It is definately one of my weaknesses and is not at all a part of beachy eating.

My South Beach Diet meal journal for the day is as follows:

  • Breakfast – One serving of steel cut oats mixed with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, a couple of teaspoons of Smart Balance, some cocoa, some Splenda, and some ff milk.  This didn’t turn out as good as I had hoped.  I also had a small turkey sausage.
  • Mid-morning snack – one apple with two tablespoons of natural peanut butter.
  • Lunch – Two pork chops, about 3/4 cup of white beans, and one cup of steamed broccoli.
  • Mid-afternoon snack – A couple of pieces of bacon.
  • Supper – A bowl of leftover chicken/pepper/cheese/kidney bean mix. 
  • Mid-evening snack – A serving of Uncle Sam cereal with a cup of ff milk and a cup of ff, plain yogurt with flax seed and strawberry Jello powder mixed in.
  • Miscellaneous – I did not have enough water today.
