I think I had another good day on the South Beach Diet today. I didn’t walk this morning, but Charity and I did go for a walk this evening, although it was only 1.3 miles It was a nice, peaceful walk though.
My South Beach Diet meal journal for the day is as follows:
- Breakfast – One serving of Uncle Sam cereal with a cup of ff milk. I did add Splenda this morning. As I was running out the door I felt a little hungry still so I ate a low-fat cheese stick and ten plain almonds. I also had two cups of coffee with Sweet ’N Low.
- Mid-morning snack – Nothing.
- Lunch – Three cheeseburger patties with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mustard.
- Mid-afternoon snack – Nothing.
- Supper – Two pork chops, a small serving of leftover roast beef, two small pieces of cooked carrots (about 3 inches long each), and two cooked celery stalks. This was not enough vegetables and it was too much meat, but I don’t feel too bad about it.
- Mid-evening snack – One chocolate covered ice cream bar that is SBD friendly or close to it. I may also have a cup of ff, plain yogurt with some flavoring in it before bed.
I am really anxious for weigh in and measurements tomorrow. It should be a good one.

I was able to get up this morning at 4:30am and get most of my exercise program in. I did everything except for the jump rope. I did not do the long walk this morning, but I did walk 2.5 miles. After that I did 165 push ups (29, 33, 29, 19, 7, 3, and 45). The 19, 7, and 4 were supposed to be 29, but I couldn’t do it, so before I did the 45 I did my leg lifts. For those I did 160 (29, 33, 29, 29, and 40). This was the first time I have really struggled with the leg lifts. I did rest a full two minutes, or a little more, between sets on both push ups and leg lifts. I wish I had done jump rope, but I just couldn’t fit it in time wise and I was not as motivated to do it.
I snuck a peak at the scale this morning and I think I am going to be pleasantly suprized on weigh day this week. That is the only hint I am going to give at this point though. I am really going to have to be as dedicated as possible over the next month or so. My annual physical is coming up soon and I want to be sure it goes well.
My South Beach Diet meal journal for the day is as follows:
- Breakfast – One serving of Uncle Sam cereal with a cup of ff milk,
- Mid-morning snack – One apple with two tablespoons of natural peanut butter.
- Lunch – One can of tuna, about 1/2-3/4 of a cup of butter beans, and one cup of broccoli slaw.
- Mid-afternoon snack – Two low-fat mozarella cheese sticks.
- Supper – Roast beef with the fat trimmed, one small baked sweet potato, about a cup of broccoli slaw, and about a cup of steamed broccoli. I feel like I overate too much, but it was like I couldn’t stop myself. At least it was all South Beach Diet friendly.
- Mid-evening snack – One no-sugar added ice cream bar, and a cup of ff, plain yogurt with lemon Jello powder and a tablespoon of flax seed mixed in.
